Green Dot Labs soft-launched in Arizona as a limited small batch release Saturday, June 26th at Sol and Sunday Goods dispensaries in Phoenix, but we were not the early birds for this worm and by time I checked the dispensaries by me, the concentrate part of the drops which I was most interested in had sadly already all sold out.

I DID, however, manage to snag some tickets to their Tokes and Tacos event at Buds Glass Joint (a name that should ring a bell for any Budsapalooza attendees) where we got a set of pins from spinning the wheel at the booth they had set up, free tacos, as well as the two pre-rolls being reviewed!

Honestly, I was a little confused on what the purpose of the event was, as limited tickets seemed to have been released and the description was "This private 21+ event includes food, drinks, and an exclusive GDL drop experience." Technically all was delivered, as none of the dispensaries were doing the festival style booths with merch, but it seemed a little...underwhelming? It seemed more of a dry run of operating a booth at the next big event than an actual event in itself.

Regardless, the event was still VERY fun and the community turned out for it. With the event not costing anything but the transportation cost we opted to incur rather than deal with parking and driving downtown, it certainly wasn't anything to complain about. We got two pre-rolls, exclusive strain pins, free food, and a chance to chat with some Green Dot Labs staff as well!

Some attendees were even generous enough to pass around some of their own personal purchases, which allowed me to finally get a few pulls from the insanely priced (and also limited run) Jay and Silent Bob’s “Bluntman’s Chronic” Hash Hole by Jeeter. While it wasn't enough to give it a fair review, it was enough to affirm to myself that I probably made the right decision opting to hold off when I did have the opportunity to buy one.

NOW to the pre-rolls.

Appearance – Well-packed pre-roll with even burn from start to finish

Taste – VERY gassy as the rep said it would be. To my nose, it really just had herbal notes to it and nothing exceptionally specific. Started smooth as hell, but by around halfway down it started to be too resin-y to get a comfortable hit from. By the time it was to the bottom, it was extremely harsh and had gotten dark from the resin build up.

Experience – The high itself was very nice after the actual smoking which entirely redeemed the experience from dooming this one to a lower score. It ended up feeling quite productive of a high as opposed to a couch lock experience. Throughout smoking it also felt like a small film was building up in my mouth, likely from the resin build-up. Between two heads, the roll lasted roughly ten minutes.

Rating – 3/5

Additional Notes – Not bad, but not my favorite of the two. My biggest complaint is that although it started smooth as hell, by around halfway down the pre-roll it started to be too resin-y to get a comfortable hit from. With that said, I would LOVE to try Dali in concentrated form!

Appearance – Once again solid, with a consistently even burn throughout.

Taste – Immediately had a lot more distinctive grapefruit and citrus notes coming through on just the smell alone. This one started out smooth and stayed smooth down to the end. It did start to taste a little resin-y towards the last few puffs but not nearly as much as the Dali.

Experience – The high on this one is similarly productive and stimulating rather than stoney. Between two heads this roll also lasted roughly ten minutes.

Rating – 4/5
