Product Review: Caviar Gold Infused Pre-Rolls and Moon Rock Flower

Caviar Gold broke their way onto our radar with their inclusion in the Best in Grass competition where they absolutely blew us away! Boasting that they're not just weed, they're "super weed,” these have consistently proven to be incredible quality. The folks behind Caviar Gold also very clearly make the effort to go above and beyond with the inclusion of a glass tip in every pre-roll.
Usually, when brands use words to invoke a feeling of being premium, the product falls short. Caviar Gold blows that stereotype away, delivering easily one of the most premium experiences I've inhaled.
1 Gram Pre-Rolls:
Apple Drip (52% THC):
Appearance - Like all Caviar Gold joints, these are super dark with oil visibly soaking through the paper before lighting.
Taste - Smells and tastes slightly like apples. Not enough to be off-putting, but enough to justify the name.
Experience - Using the provided glass tip, it's incredibly smooth and burns perfectly even down to the last pull. Despite being on the lower end of the batch at 52.43% THC, it still packs a heavy punch with higher potency than most brands we try. Burns extremely slowly, we passed it back and forth for a solid 25 minutes, which is absolutely insane for a single joint.

Lightning OG (57% THC):
Appearance - Characteristic Caviar Gold oil-infused appearance and strength.
Taste - Lemony scent with a hint in the taste, but mostly just herbal overall.
Experience - Burns slowly and evenly, still lasting around 25 minutes between two people. Very smooth hitting.

King Cavi OG (56% THC):
Appearance - Dark as expected, after going through the rolls we were given to test I'm extremely surprised (but happy) to report that Caviar Gold is one of the few brands that truly manages to maintain consistency throughout their products, as I'm yet to be given one that doesn't match the mold.
Taste - Fruity scent and initial taste that quickly transitions to standard herbal cannabis flavor.
Experience - To test its longevity, we recruited two brave friends for a session increasing the headcount to four people and it still lasted a solid 20 minutes from lighting to burning down to the filter. The oil-infusion provides the same slow, even burn seen across the entire product line.

.5 Gram Pre-Rolls:
Lost Louie (56% THC):
Appearance - Personally I mostly just scents of oil, but our editor gets hints of lemon as well. The half gram rolls look like they're tiny in comparison to full grams, but aren't just gone in a couple of hits thanks to the extremely slow burn.
Taste - The flavor was just standard herbal and weedy.
Experience - Burns just as slowly and evenly as their full gram counterparts without getting clogged up or too harsh to hit. These half gram joints are perfect for a parking lot session before a show, or just when you want the power of a Caviar Gold without quite as much time committed to smoking.

Overall Notes:
Across all strains, the smoke stays surprisingly smooth even when burned down low. The high is consistently potent - strong enough that these probably shouldn't be your opening roll for a wake and bake unless you plan on having minimal responsibilities afterward. If you're looking for a premium smoke that feels like it's worth holding onto for a slightly special occasion, this is it.
The included glass tip with every roll also ensures the smoothest experience without requiring any cleaning between rolls. Once you accumulate a few, they can make a great little gift for a friend as well!
Moon Rocks (Flower):
Appearance - Visually stunning. Dense and dark nugs that look like they got rolled around in a candy store - covered in kief and dripping with distillate. Fair warning: don't even think about putting these in a grinder unless you enjoy scraping gunk out of the teeth for the next hour. These things stick to everything like Belle's fur.
Taste - Apple drip that's subtle enough to not make you feel like you're smoking a Jolly Rancher. It's there, just not shouting about it. Same taste and smell as the regular Apple Drip rolls.
Experience - This stuff hits hard. Not a "I can still function" kind of high - more like "I'm ordering three pizzas and watching nature documentaries for the next six hours." Trying to smoke it in a bong was brutal, even with a fresh piece. But pack it up in a RAW cone? Much better experience, though at that point I gotta wonder why not just buy the preroll version. Much like the prerolls, after just a few moments the oil is visible through the paper. The high definitely lasts longer than regular flower, so you're in it for the long haul.
Rating - 🌵🌵🌵🌵 Lost a cactus because honestly, I'd rather just grab the pre-rolls. Less hassle, same destination.
Additional Notes - I'd definitely buy this strain again, but probably stick with the pre-roll format. Sometimes the fancy moon rock thing just adds extra steps for the same result.
