Product Review: Bud Bros Big Cloud Vapes

After spending some time with the PuffGo V2, I ended up talking to Bud Bros about the rest of their products, along with getting some samples for review (legal translation: I didn't pay for this product. This is not a paid review, but we did receive the product for free.) I started out with the Big Cloud and I'll be honest, I wasn't really sure what to expect. It's a two gram disposable all-in-one that definitely looks more serious than your average cart, but looks can be deceiving, and you never know if that translates to actual performance until you fire it up.
Turns out, if you actually follow the directions (I know, right?) and run the preheat cycle before taking a pull, this thing is genuinely wild. The vapor production is legitimately impressive in ways that earn this thing the name the "Big F*cking Cloud."
The physical design immediately feels different from most disposables. It's got this wide body build that's at least half an inch thick by an inch long, which means it actually stays upright when you set it down instead of constantly tipping over like most of these things do. There's a screen that shows your battery percentage with each hit, which is incredibly useful for knowing when you need to start thinking about charging instead of just hoping for the best. Next to the screen is also an LED backlit Bud Bros logo that flashes through colors while preheating, and speeds up slightly when taking a pull. Not needed, but a fun detail.
It runs three heat settings at 2.6v, 3.0v, and 3.6v. I stuck with the middle setting pretty much the entire time and never felt like I needed more heat. The preheat cycle is ten seconds, which feels reasonable, and once it's ready, the clouds this thing produces are honestly ridiculous. I'm talking T-H-I-DOUBLE-C clouds from pulls that were maybe four seconds tops. No need to work for it or take massive rips to feel satisfied, and I'm actually terrified of what a blinker would feel like on my lungs and throat.
What really surprised me was how smooth it stayed throughout testing. Usually when something runs hot enough to produce clouds like this, you end up with harshness or burnt flavors pretty quickly, but this managed to stay pleasant and clean tasting right up until the oil was basically gone.
The trade-off, though, is consumption speed. That two grams of concentrate lasted me about the same amount of time a regular gram usually does, roughly a week of normal use. I got curious enough to take the unit apart afterward and found out why: there are actually two heating elements in there instead of the usual single coil setup. That explains both the massive vapor production and why I was going through concentrate twice as fast. It's not really a problem, just something to keep in mind when you're thinking about cost per session.
These usually run around $50, but they seem to hit sales pretty regularly. I've seen 25 percent off at various dispensaries, and some places do buy-one-get-one deals that make the faster consumption rate much less concerning.
The only real complaint I have is that the charging port is on the bottom. I'm sure it's a space constraint issue, but it means you can't keep it standing upright while it charges, which feels a little disappointing given how stable the design is otherwise. Not a deal-breaker, just a little annoying.
Battery life seems solid as long as you don't let it get too low. I'd probably plug it in around 30 to 40 percent to avoid any weak hits, and charging time is reasonable enough that it doesn't become a hassle.
The strain I tried was Grape Lemon Cherry, and this is where things got interesting. Instead of tasting like fruit, it had this distinctive Earl Grey tea flavor that was completely unexpected but somehow pleasant. Clean, sophisticated, not really weedy at all. Definitely not what I was expecting from the name but I wouldn't complain either.
Overall, the Big Cloud absolutely delivers on what it promises. If you want serious vapor production from a disposable and you're okay with going through oil faster to get it, this thing works really well. The build quality feels solid, the user experience is thoughtful, and the performance genuinely impressed me.
